Welcome 2018

This year marks many changes to come in my life.  For many years I have been blessed with living in my elderly mother’s home.  She had reached a point last year that I could no longer take care of her in her home without more dedicated help.  I struggled with her dementia since the spring of last year and regrettably the stress on both of us had become too challenging.  After many family meetings with my siblings it was decided that mom would go to a retirement home.  She now lives close to my oldest sister and all is going well. She has surprising adjusted far better than expected.

I am the youngest of five children.  My sister is the oldest, then my twin brothers T & K, followed by my brother S and then me.  Sadly, my twin brother K passed away suddenly this past fall.  He was loved much and is dearly missed.  Not a day goes by that I don’t reflect on a special memory of him.

Mom and I share two American cocker spaniels.  Daisy, a retired showgirl and Duke, her grandson.  I will try not to ramble on about them too much.  Since the house will soon be sold, I am hoping to find an apartment nearby my sister and family.  This will allow me to see mom frequently and she can see Daisy and Duke regularly as well.  That’s a win win for both mom and me.  Hopefully my sister won’t get overwhelmed with my frequent unannounced drop ins (LOL).
